Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Mass. created the smiley face in 1963. This symbol has become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet. Mr. Ball created World Smile Day to remind others that the smile is not just to be commercialized. The smile should be honored and that each year on the first Friday in October world wide we should celebrate smiles and kindness. If your child has appropriate smile clothing, pins etc. they are encouraged to wear them that day. Please encourage others to do an Act of Kindness...help one person smile!! :)
